Hannah Desmarais

Hannah Desmarais

“I am most proud of the positive impact I am able to make on other people's lives.”

Hannah Desmarais is the valedictorian of her class at Bulkeley High School. She is a member of the National Honor Society, serves on the Hartford Public Schools Student Senate, and is the vice president of her school’s community service club. Not only is Hannah graduating at the top of her class, but she is also graduating with over seventy hours of community service. She finds joy in her ability to give back and in the connections she has made with members of her community.

Next year, along with her two best friends, Hannah will be attending Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. Hannah described MCLA as her “dream school” and will be majoring in biology with a concentration in pre-pharmacy. In the future, Hannah hopes to be a pharmacist or teacher and move to Ireland. She feels a strong connection to Ireland because she wants to revisit the homeland of her ancestors and get in touch with her heritage. When she lives in Ireland, one thing is for sure, Hannah plans to continue volunteering “as much as [she] can.”
