our programs - OUR 20th Annual and FINAL Camp will be held on June 10th, 2023

the football fundamentals camp

Every year, the CFM Foundation holds a one-day football fundamentals camp for student-athletes. We often bring in NFL players, in addition to coaches from around the state, to help teach these athletes the proper principles, mechanics, and ethics of high-level competitive football.

This one-day, no-contact camp stresses fundamentals, form, and technique with the primary objective of focusing on quality instruction for each player in a fun atmosphere.

Our volunteer coaches strive to teach the skills needed to make better football players and to stimulate general interest in the game of football, while promoting the concept of teamwork. They also stress the importance of education, hard work, and character development, as these lead to success both on and off the field. We believe that football skills can be a mechanism for illustrating the importance of individual work ethic and teamwork.

We want to emphasize the importance of self-confidence, trust, discipline, a positive self-image and a good work ethic. We take advantage of every minute spent with the players during this intense and upbeat day to bring this message home.

camp history

The CFM Foundation held its inaugural camp on June 15, 2002 in Hartford, Connecticut, in conjunction with the Tebucky Jones Youth Foundation. Several NFL players and coaches acted as volunteer instructors, as did coaches from regional universities. The Connecticut Association of High School Referees provided referees and the Hartford Police Department provided volunteer officers for security. An additional 50 volunteers managed registration, catering, and general organization. Approximately 250 students participated in the Camp in 2002 - this number has grown to an average of 550 players, 150 coaches, and 200 volunteers today.

Coach Graham Martin

Coach Graham Martin

the coach graham martin MVP award

The Coach Graham Martin MVP Award is our highest honor to acknowledge players who display the highest level of dedication, discipline, and work ethic throughout the day.

This honorary award commemorates the impact of Graham "Coach" Martin and his contributions to our community and the Foundation. During his career, Coach Martin has left an invaluable impact on all in the greater Hartford community, both as a teacher and as the Head Football Coach for Bulkeley High School - a career that spanned over 40 years. Since the Foundation's inception, Coach Martin's tireless efforts set forth the vision for what CFM has become today and his leadership has set the example for all who support the Foundation.
